Suspect files

The following files have a mismatch between the information implied by the filename and that in the file or the information in the +PAGE line(s) is wrong. (The precise rules for naming files vary from syndicate to syndicate.) If your file is listed here and you believe it is compliant please mail FreeBMD with details. Otherwise, would you either change the filename or the contents. This can be done by going to File Maintenance and using Rename or View/Edit respectively. If your syndicate has specific rules about filenames you should discuss such a change with your coordinator first. An explanation of the errors is at the bottom of the page.

Explanation of errors

Pages outside range	The file contains a high percentage of lines in which the page is outside the range expected for the district (>55% for files up to 50 entries, >45% otherwise). Note that this refers to the current update - changing the file will only take effect at the next update
No +S, +B, +U, +M or +F line in file	The format of the file is incorrect
Age at Death (or DOB) missing from file	The Age at Death field (or Date of Birth) is missing from all records in a file from Mar 1866 onwards
Possible alternative name (alias/or)	A name in the file contains the characters ' alias ' or ' or ' indicating an alternative name that should be transcribed as two entries.
