WinBMD Download WinBMD DownloadWinBMD is the Windows version of SpeedBMD, for transcribers of the FreeBMD project and it comes with its own integral Viewer to make it even easier to use. It also features automated uploading of your completed transcriptions to the FreeBMD site. WinBMD will run on Windows systems up to and including Windows Vista (see here if you have problems installing on Window Vista).
WinBMD is a separate program from SpeedBMD and should not be installed in the SpeedBMD folder, but into its own folder on your hard drive. You do not need to install SpeedBMD if you use WinBMD or vice versa. Download and Install WinBMD from the buttons below.
If you already have version 4 of WinBMD installed on your computer then please click the "Upgrade from Version 4" link below, if you have not then please click the "Install WinBMD version 5" link. After that you will be asked if you want to "RUN" or "SAVE" - it does not matter which you select except that if you Save then you may have to manually run the saved file after it has downloaded. You may copy this saved file to another computer and install (or upgrade to) version 5 without internet access.
Upgrading to version 5 from version 4 will not affect any of your saved files. Note though that version 5 uses quite different district files and you will not be able to use any "doctored" lists that you may have, the program will install new ones.
